(2 Corinthians 9:8) “And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.”
Part 6: WHAT’S IN IT FOR US? - 27. Financial wisdom (generosity trains stewardship and breaks grip of greed).
(Great quote) Money is a wonderful servant but a terrible master.
Most of us think financial freedom comes from earning more. Jesus taught something deeper. Real freedom comes when money no longer owns your heart.
Greed is subtle. It whispers, "Just a little more." A little more money. A little more security. A little more success. But "more” is a bottomless pit; it is never satisfied. It’s like a computer game; there's always another level to chase.
Jesus lived differently. He owned very little, yet lacked nothing. He trusted His Father completely and showed that life's true riches aren't measured by possessions but by relationship with God.
When we understand that everything we have ultimately belongs to God, our perspective changes. We stop acting like owners and start living as faithful stewards. Our income, talents, opportunities and possessions become gifts entrusted to us for His purposes.
Generosity is one of the Holy Spirit's greatest tools for shaping our hearts. Every time we choose to give instead of grasp, we loosen greed's grip. Every act of generosity reminds us that God is our Provider and that we can trust Him with tomorrow.
This doesn't mean being careless with money. Quite the opposite. Scripture encourages wisdom, diligence, planning and avoiding unnecessary debt. Good stewardship honours God because it treats His gifts with respect.
Ironically, generous people are often the most content people. Their joy isn't tied to the size of their bank account but to the faithfulness of God. They discover that open hands receive far more than tightly closed fists ever can!
When your identity is secure in Christ, money becomes a tool instead of a source of worth. You no longer need possessions to prove your value because your value has already been settled at the cross.
The result isn't poverty or wealth as an end in themselves. It's freedom. Freedom to give. Freedom to keep back something so that you can help others. Freedom to trust your heavenly Father, knowing that He is far better at providing for His children than we could ever be for ourselves.

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, years ago You told me that You would teach me how to live in lack and plenty. Thank You that You haven't given up on me and my petulant ways..." Amen!
