(Proverbs 14:26) “In the [reverent] fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, And His children will [always] have a place of refuge.”

People seem to get all screwed up with understanding the term 'The fear of the Lord.'

If the Lord is your Shepherd (Psalm 23), and you have experienced His Grace, you will, of course, recognise that the fear of the Lord is a deep reverence and awe for His protectively loving power, holiness, and authority over all the darkness that seeks to destroy you and all that is yours.

It entails acknowledging GOD's greatness, submitting to His loving will, and seeking to live in a manner that honours Him. This fear is not intended to confine, but to assure you that even though you'll have to "walk through the [sunless] valley of the shadow of death, [you will] fear no evil, for He is with you" (Psalm 23:4).

That means you can live a spectacular life of wisdom, joy and love and confidently say with the Psalmist, "In the [reverent] fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, And His children will [always] have a place of refuge.”

Let's pray, "Heavenly Father, I come before you today seeking your guidance and wisdom. I long to walk in your ways, but I know I need your help. I ask that you would instil in me a healthy fear of your name, a reverence for your holiness, and a desire to obey your commands. May this fear not be one of terror, but of respect and awe, leading me to trust in your perfect plan for my life. Open my eyes to see your will, and give me the courage to follow your path." Amen!
