The Lord is close to all whose hearts are crushed by pain, and he is always ready to restore the repentant one.

Even when bad things happen to the good and godly ones, the Lord will save them and not let them be defeated by what they face. (Psa 34:18)

According to earthly calendars, I've lived through another milestone today, and even though time continues on and I persist in seeing that bad things can (and do) happen to us, I can also finally come to terms with the fact that Jesus is truly Worthy to be our Lord (i.e. He knows best, and I've given up doing everything 'my' way).

I can proudly say, therefore, that HE IS LORD and is Worthy to dictate what ultimately happens to us – not sickness, poverty, betrayal, our stupidity, or even our toxic choices …!

Can we all lift up our hearts today and say together, 'Thank you, Jesus, for being my Faithful Lord – and my truest friend.'
