(1 Corinthians 13:13) "...And now there remain: faith [abiding trust in God and His promises], hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation], love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me], these three [the choicest graces]; but the greatest of these is love.”
This verse is taken (and expounded beautifully) from the Amplified Bible.
- faith [abiding trust in God and His promises]
- hope [confident expectation of eternal salvation]
- love [unselfish love for others growing out of God’s love for me]
The idea of faith 'evolving' into love is a central theme in Christian Scripture, especially emphasised in the writings of Paul.
1 Corinthians 13:13 highlights that "faith, hope, and love" are essential, with love being the greatest.
Additionally, 1 John 4:7-8 asserts that "love is from GOD, and whoever loves has been born of GOD and knows GOD," while stating, "He who does not love does not know GOD, for GOD is love."
This suggests that genuine faith leads to a transformed heart, one that manifests GOD's love (and all that flows from it).

Let's pray, "Holy Father, I thank you for the gift of faith, hope, and love. I pray that these three virtues will always remain in my heart and guide me in all that I do. I claim the promise that the greatest of these is love, and I ask that you fill me with your love so that I may love others as you have loved me." Amen!
