(Hebrews 9:14) "For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.”
Yesterday was all about 'identifying' with Christ's death. Today is about forgiveness in order to gratefully 'serve' the living GOD.
Many people (far too many) have been told that once they have prayed the prayer of salvation, they have a divinely stamped ticket that enables them to enter Heaven and are, by definition, saved from hell and damnation.
Unfortunately, the Bible is quite explicit about what will happen to those who choose to continue on their own path without seeking a relationship with their Redeemer and Saviour and His perfectly loving will for their lives.
Once again, I turn to Oswald Chambers, who states it very simply: "Forgiveness doesn't merely mean that I am saved from sin and made right for heaven; forgiveness means that I am forgiven so that I can enter into a recreated relationship, one that identifies with Him who Redeemed and Saved me!"

Let's pray, "Heavenly Father, I thank you for the precious Redeeming blood of my Saviour, your Son, Jesus Christ. I acknowledge that through his sacrifice, offered once for all, my conscience can be cleansed from all the dead works that lead to death. By faith, I receive the cleansing power of His blood and ask that it purify my heart and mind, setting me free to serve You, the living God, with a clean conscience. May I live in the freedom and power of your Holy Spirit, serving you with a heart that is pure and devoted." Amen!
