(Romans 12:9) "Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God's wrath, for it is written: 'It is mine to avenge; I will repay,' says the Lord."
Continuing from yesterday's discussion, today’s message will centre on defining vengeance.
Social and cultural influences today often glorify revenge, presenting it as a justified response to wrongdoing. However, those well-versed in history understand that such justifications only amplify the desire to act on these feelings, perpetuating an ever-escalating cycle of pain and suffering for everyone caught up in the conflict.
Prayer—the act of softening hearts to invite GOD’s presence—is the ONLY pathway for miracles to unfold. History has shown that through prayer, conflicts have astonishingly been resolved as combatants recognised the error of their ways. It is through prayer that eyes and hearts have been opened, allowing both parties to concentrate on their similarities instead of their differences.
Biblical Wisdom emphasises our 'laying down our arms at the feet of Christ, and trusting GOD to handle justice.' As such, and at the very least, we must first ask direction from Jesus and then follow His guidance in how to resolve a grudge before it evolves into a necessity for revenge.

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, thank you for the unparalleled example of love that you show in Jesus. I ask that you deepen my desire to love others genuinely and wholeheartedly as He does. Please grant me the wisdom to discern what is truly good and the strength to pursue it with fervour. Help me to genuinely detest what is evil and to cast it out of my heart whenever it tries to manifest. Fill me with your pure, selfless love, and empower me to share Your love with others abundantly." Amen!
