(Isaiah 43:7) "...everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made."
Yesterday, we were reminded that the deeper meaning of sin relates to the separation or disconnection from our true identity. We saw how ‘sin' stems from us not understanding who we are, which in turn obscures our awareness of what we are truly capable of in Christ Jesus.
Today, I was confronted by how we mock people who reject their physical identity by claiming another gender. Then it hit me that many Christians do the same thing when they, in turn, reject their spiritual identity.
When a Christian rejects their true identity (who they are and who they can be), they inevitably experience a sense of disconnection from their faith and purpose. This rejection can lead to feelings of confusion, inadequacy, and spiritual emptiness, as they stray from the understanding of themselves as beloved children of GOD. It results in poor decision-making, a lack of fulfilment in life, and struggles with self-worth. Ultimately, this disconnection can hinder their relationship with GOD and diminish their ability to live out their faith authentically.
But when a Christian accepts their true identity, they genuinely experience a profound sense of belonging, purpose, and peace. This acceptance fosters a deeper relationship with GOD, as they recognise themselves as beloved children created in His image. It empowers them to live before GOD with confidence and authenticity, aligning their actions and choices through His Will and with His Power (see John 14:12, Jesus telling us "...Greater things will you do ...").
Embracing our true identity leads to greater resilience in facing challenges, a more compassionate outlook toward others, and a commitment to fulfilling one's GOD-given potential. Ultimately, it enhances our ability to reflect GOD's love and grace in the world.

Let us pray, "Heavenly Father, thank You for calling me by name and for creating me to bring You Glory. I thank You for forming and making me, a testament to Your power and purpose. In a world that often emphasises achievement and status, remind me that my true identity is rooted in being Your creation, made for Your Glory. Help me to live a life that reflects Your goodness and grace, honouring You in all that I do and say. May I never stray from Your teachings or forget that I am Your treasured possession." Amen!
