Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart. (Psalm‬ ‭37:4‬) Beautiful Promise that many of us have highlighted, underscored, ringed, written out, stuck on fridges, walls, pictures, etc… The thing is, it’s actually split into two parts. And the second part ‘He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart,’ can only come into play if we practice the initial part first: ‘Delight yourself in the Lord.’ Holy Spirit, please help us to shrug off the la la that’s already forcing its way into our schedule of ‘it must be done today’ and show us how to make time to delight ourselves in You! X
