Though the cherry trees don’t blossom and the strawberries don’t ripen, Though the apples are worm-eaten and the wheat fields stunted, Though the sheep pens are sheepless and the cattle barns empty, I’m singing joyful praise to GOD. I’m turning cartwheels of joy to my Savior God. Counting on GOD ’s Rule to prevail, I take heart and gain strength. I run like a deer. I feel like I’m king of the mountain! (Hab 3:17) I read this and the first thing that springs to mind is do I? Do I take heart and gain strength in GOD’s Rule to prevail, or go on moaning, like the old poem? “As children bring their broken toys
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God, because He is my Friend.
But then, instead of leaving Him
In peace to work alone,
I hung around,
and tried to help,
With ways that were ‘my’ own!
At last, I snatched them back and cried
How could You be so slow?
My child, He said, what could I do?
You never did let go!” Your Heavenly Papà LOVES you Child of the Living God. Love Him back by trusting Him and let go … x
