My counsel is this: Live freely, animated and motivated by God’s Spirit. Then you won’t feed the compulsions of selfishness… … what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. (Gal 5:22) There have been so many “I can’t cope with this situation anymore” times in my own life that I’ve wanted to – reached for, the ‘eject button!’ Sometimes my selfishness allows my flesh to get the better of me and then there are other times when I let the Holy Spirit develop a willingness to stick with things. His compassion grows within my heart. My fear and anger dissipates and I end up seeing GOD in action. Thank you for your patience with me Lord. X
