Tuesday – 16/2/16

Six days before Passover, Jesus entered Bethany where Lazarus, so recently raised from the dead, was living. Lazarus and his sisters invited Jesus to dinner at their home. Martha served. Lazarus was one of those sitting at the table with them. Mary came in with a jar of very expensive aromatic oils, anointed and massaged Jesus’ feet, and then wiped them with her hair. The fragrance of the oils filled the house. (John‬ ‭12:1-3‬) This actually reminds me of my good friend at school. He was madly in love with a girl in a higher form and she let him wear her school scarf ‘liberally’ scented in her perfume Estée Lauder! The sensory experience impacted me go greatly that I still remember both their names and even the perfume’s name – even after all these years! Wherever and everywhere we went – football, swimming, the bus home, she went too … Lord Jesus, bless our senses to see, hear, feel, smell and hold onto you today so that those around us can ‘know and experience’ you! Amen! X
