Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted. Make a clean break with all cutting, backbiting, profane talk. Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you. (Eph 4:30).
It seems that the things that break Papà’s heart and ultimately separate us from the peace of unity we humbly find in each other are our responses to situations.
Reminds me of a girl who was being verbally abused by her friends for not joining them on a hen night “what’s wrong,” they yelled, “afraid that your father might hurt you?” “No,” she responded, “I’m afraid that I might hurt my father!” X
