Tuesday – 1/9/15

This is the kind of life you’ve been invited into, the kind of life Christ lived. He suffered everything that came his way so you would know that it could be done, and also know how to do it, step-by-step. He never did one thing wrong, Not once said anything amiss. They called him every name in the book and he said nothing back. He suffered in silence, content to let God set things right. (1 Peter‬ ‭2:21) There’s far more to this life than trusting in Christ. There’s also suffering for him. And the suffering is as much a gift as the trusting. (Phil‬ ‭1:27) How …? How do we suffer for Jesus when He has already taken ALL to the Cross? By not responding in anger. By not retaliating or cursing. By not gossiping. By not seeking our own way and wanting revenge. By giving our hearts to God and ‘choosing’ to allow Him to deal with the outcome! Anyway, Papà knows best and if He says that suffering is as much a gift as trusting then it must be true! X
