Jesus replied, “If you only knew who I am and the gift that God wants to give you—you’d ask me for a drink, and I would give to you living water.” (John‬ ‭4:10‬)

This is the traditional Season for the giving and receiving of gifts. A time of celebration and of Peace. Many of us will have learned to smile kindly at the knitted scarf or the outlandish sweater we receive from an older relative and for some of us – due to financial constraints, the presents we receive will sometimes have to be a token gesture rather than the object that fulfils the desires of our heart.

But as we shrug off our immaturity and begin to understand what gifts of love really mean, we quickly learn that compromises of the heart do preclude Joy.

GOD however, never needs to compromise. And as for His Gifts – I don’t know how He does it, but He continually manages to hide an awesome surprise in each and every one!

Take Mary for example, and the Gift of Life within her. Would anyone (could anyone), have foreseen how one unplanned pregnancy would save us all…?

So be careful not to judge anything by it’s wrapper. None of us will ever know or understand the awesome potential of what’s hidden inside one of GOD’s Gifts.

Remember – Everything God created is good, and to be received with thanks. Nothing is to be sneered at and thrown out. God’s Word and our prayers make every item in creation holy. (‭‭1 Tim‬ ‭4:4) ❤️
