Jesus said, “… You’re not in charge here. The Father who sent me is in charge. He draws people to me—that’s the only way you’ll ever come. Only then do I do my work, putting people together, setting them on their feet, ready for the End. … Anyone who has spent any time at all listening to the Father, really listening and therefore learning, comes to me to be taught personally—to see it with his own eyes, hear it with his own ears, from me, since I have it firsthand from the Father.” (John‬ ‭6:43) So many are clamouring to be leaders today. So many clever arguments from both the right wing or left wing. But everyone knows deep down that it won’t be clever post referendum debates or even strong political strategies that saves our world – but Unity in Love. I for one know that I didn’t have this High Love – or even the capability of it, ‘in me’ at first. No matter how well groomed, my CV and all my intentions were very selfish and ‘me first’! It was only when I came to accept that all my ‘best endeavours’ and ‘clever strategies’ just ended up hurting people (and myself), that I finally took the humbling High Road, out of my horrible life, turned around and asked Jesus for His help. How do we keep our hands from grabbing the reins? By keeping them clasped together in prayer! By loving and serving others. By encouraging, comforting and edifying others. By ‘being’ Christ like … X
