Thursday – 27/10/16

One day he (Jesus) was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said, “Master, teach us to pray just as John taught his disciples.” So he said, “When you pray, say, Father, Reveal who you are. Set the world right. Keep us alive with three square meals. Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others. Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil.” (Luke‬ ‭11:1) When that which we know as ‘the Lord’s prayer’ is written down as ‘normal’ as this, then the prayer takes on a whole new dimension. Father, Reveal who you are to us, both to us and to all we meet today. Move in love and freedom through us to set the world right. Open and change our hearts to see how and why others have need of forgiveness, not judgement. Keep us safe from our selfish demands and listening to the devil’s ideas.
