God told Moses, “ I’m in charge of mercy. I’m in charge of compassion.” Compassion doesn’t originate in our bleeding hearts or moral sweat, but in God’s mercy… (‭‭Rom 9:14) Our Papà sees everything we do and He knows why we do it, even if our actions are wrong and we end up having to ask for forgiveness. The thing we should always remember is that (apart from the yukky side of sin), we truly are ‘really’ made in the image of God! So, the question is: ‘am I more compassionate than God?’ Or: ‘does this situation touch me more than it does my Father?’ Jesus Himself tells us that there will appear times when our Father will seem distant, but that if we hang on to faith that He’s there – that He’s ‘Emmanuel’ (God WITH us), then it’s in those times that we’ll grow in faith, hope and love. Your Papà says: “Hang on to your pregnant hope. You’re about to give birth to something Awesome.” X
