Sunday

Real wisdom, God’s wisdom, begins with a holy life and is characterized by getting along with others. It is gentle and reasonable, overflowing with mercy and blessings, not hot one day and cold the next, not two-faced. You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and honour. (James 3:17)

Some of us ‘older guys’ were discussing The Graces at work the other day.

St Google defines the Graces as: courteousness, politeness, good manners, mannerliness, civility, decorum, decency, propriety, respectfulness …

These Graces were taught to us at an early age: giving up your seat on a bus to an older person or lady – without being asked. Respecting the authority in our elders. Being polite – saying please and thank you. Having decency – not acting or dressing like you’ve been in a gangster or porn movie.

(Jesus speaking) “Wake up and strengthen all that remains before it dies…” (Rev 3:2)
