Sunday – 17/1/16

I give you all the credit, GOD — you got me out of that mess, you didn’t let my foes gloat. GOD, my God, I yelled for help and you put me together. GOD, you pulled me out of the grave, gave me another chance at life when I was down-and-out. All you saints! Sing your hearts out to GOD! Thank him to his face! He gets angry once in a while, but across a lifetime there is only love. The nights of crying your eyes out give way to days of laughter. When things were going great I crowed, “I’ve got it made. I’m GOD ’s favorite. He made me king of the mountain.” Then you looked the other way and I fell to pieces. I called out to you, GOD; I laid my case before you: “Can you sell me for a profit when I’m dead? auction me off at a cemetery yard sale? When I’m ‘dust to dust’ my songs and stories of you won’t sell. So listen! and be kind! Help me out of this!” You did it: you changed wild lament into whirling dance; You ripped off my black mourning band and decked me with wildflowers. I’m about to burst with song; I can’t keep quiet about you. GOD, my God, I can’t thank you enough. (Psalm‬ ‭30:1) How many times have I been here? How many times … and yet I can truly say ‘God is faithful!’ So that we can ALL agree that: “No test or temptation that comes your way is beyond the course of what others have had to face. All you need to remember is that God will never let you down; he’ll never let you be pushed past your limit; he’ll always be there to help you come through it.” (1 Cor‬ ‭10:13). X

Yes, indeed—God is my salvation. I trust, I won’t be afraid. GOD —yes GOD!—is my strength and song, best of all, my salvation! (Isa 12:2‬ MSG) Have you ever heard a child crying out in their sleep? Ma

Those who think they can do it on their own end up obsessed with measuring their own moral muscle but never get around to exercising it in real life. Those who trust God’s action in them find that God

… don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. We looked at the Messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. We certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. (‭2 Cor 5:16 MSG
