…Let’s keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He (God) always keeps his word. (Heb 10:22) When I was first diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago, the first thing my wife said as I was miserably sitting on the window ledge with the pigeons, was: “don’t despair, what is God saying to you?” I know from experience that it’s so easy to ‘believe and receive’ words from the professionals around you – who in fairness do a great job of interpreting the data available to them. The problem is, because free will is hard wired into us, then we always have the ability to ‘choose whom we will believe! Further, unless we have an unshakeable trust in His love for us then we won’t (can’t) reach out and ask for His Word as we’ll be convinced that ‘this is a judgement’ on us because we have somehow upset Him …! If you can at least hang on to the ‘FACT’ that Jesus died for you because He loved you with a love that supernaturally eclipses human parenthood, then you’ll take every ‘natural’ situation to Him in prayer asking for His ‘supernatural’ intervention! So whatever trial you’re going through, lay it all out before Him and ‘ask!’ Lord, this is what the doctor says / the bank says / my husband (wife) says / the drugs in my body says… what do YOU say? X
