It’s what we trust in but don’t yet see that keeps us going. (2 Cor 5:7) Trust is defined as: “A firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something.” A) Jump – I’ll catch you!
B) If you eat all your greens, then you can have the ice cream!
C) Clean up your room and you can go…!
D) OK, I’ll make you a deal. Help me clear out the shed today and you can have the bike… All these are ‘normal’ examples of trust we place in the ones we love. Of course, the older we get the longer the expectations… A) If you keep working as hard as this, then you’ll secure a place easily …
B) Another 2 years together and we’ll have saved enough for a good deposit … Such hope [in God’s promises] never disappoints us, because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. (Rom 5:5) “Child of Mine. Trust in Me enough to honour Me…” X
