Saturday – 25/2/17

(Jesus speaking) “… If you love me, show it by doing what I’ve told you. I will talk to the Father, and he’ll provide you another Friend so that you will always have someone with you. This Friend is the Spirit of Truth. The godless world can’t take him in because it doesn’t have eyes to see him, doesn’t know what to look for. But you know him already because he has been staying with you, and will even be in you!” (‭‭John‬ ‭14:15) That only way I can really comprehend this statement is through ‘love.’ Most of us have experienced the sheer ugliness of when anger, hurt, bitterness comes in and ‘possesses’ us to the extent it totally burns us out and leaves us bereft of all energy – and hope! Well, when you’ve experienced love, you begin to understand that just ‘being’ with the object of your love heightens your day. It (somehow) lights up your life and everything just seems ‘possible.’ We who have received His Holy Spirit, actually have this ‘High Love’ available ‘in us!’ Not to ‘possess us’ against our will – instead He woos us and proves Himself to be our ‘Friend.’ Lord I love you – help me to love and trust you enough to honour you … X
