Saturday

God, you’ve done it all! Who is quite like you?

You, who made me stare trouble in the face, Turn me around; Now let me look life in the face.

I’ve been to the bottom; Bring me up, streaming with honors; turn to me, be tender to me, And I’ll take up the lute and thank you to the tune of your faithfulness, God. I’ll make music for you on a harp, Holy One of Israel.

When I open up in song to you, I let out lungsful of praise, my rescued life a song. All day long I’m chanting about you and your righteous ways, While those who tried to do me in slink off looking ashamed. (Psa 71:22)

This reminds me of the time I had to collect my car from a garage hat was situated in a junk yard. I must have only been about 17/18 and there were dogs, BIG ANGRY GROWLY INTIMIDATING DOGS, and I had to walk through them to get to the garage. After hearing all the barking the mechanics too all came out to watch, waiting to see if I’d make it or run and get eaten!

The prayer I prayed that day was probably one of the most effective prayers I’d ever prayed… and those dogs who tried to do me in had to slink off ashamed. 🙏🏻😊

You, who made me stare trouble in the face, Turn me around; Now let me look life in the face. X

If we boast that we have no sin, we’re only fooling ourselves and are strangers to the truth. But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time
