Make sure you don’t forget GOD, your God, by not keeping his commandments, his rules and regulations that I command you today. Make sure that when you eat and are satisfied, build pleasant houses and settle in, see your herds and flocks flourish and more and more money come in, watch your standard of living going up and up—make sure you don’t become so full of yourself and your things that you forget GOD, your God, the God who delivered you … (Deu 8:11)

Let’s face it, most of us only go back to our GOD – the One Who delivered us from so much, when things are going badly (again)…

Lord, make the roots of my life go deep into Jesus. If there are any roots heading away from Him to other soil, then I ask that you break them away! I don’t want the poison they carry back to be part of who I am. Amen. X
