Monday – 7/12/15

He personally bore our sins in His [own] body on the tree [as on an altar and offered Himself on it], that we might die (cease to exist) to sin and live to righteousness. By His wounds you have been healed.

For you were going astray like [so many] sheep, but now you have come back to the Shepherd and Guardian (the Bishop) of your souls. [Isa. 53:5, 6.] 1 Peter‬ ‭2:24)

(Jesus speaking) The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me [the Anointed One, the Messiah] to preach the good news (the Gospel) to the poor; He has sent Me to announce release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send forth as delivered those who are oppressed [who are downtrodden, bruised, crushed, and broken down by calamity],

To proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound]. [Isa. 61:1, 2.] Luke‬ ‭4:18)

These words have been very much on my heart as I see some of my friends struggle with sickness (mental and physical), or addiction, or family crises, or financial upheaval …

So I kneel again at Your Cross Lord, to remind myself of all you’ve said and done – and why! Thank you. X
