I am not asking that you remove them from the world, but I ask that you guard their hearts from evil, For they no longer belong to this world any more than I do. (John‬ ‭17:15)

We certainly need our hearts guarding – especially from the onslaught of our OWN emotions! Vengeance, bitterness, anger, self-pity …

Our expectation is that Jesus will accompany us into all the school playgrounds of life and beat up the bully that has been plaguing us. But instead of avenging us, Jesus throws his arms around him and loves on him – so unfair!

“However, I say to you, don’t repay an evil act with another evil act.” (‭‭Mat 5:39‬)

Is your enemy hungry? Buy him lunch. Win him over with your kindness. Your surprising generosity will awaken his conscience and God will reward you with favour. (‭‭Pro 25:21) ❤️
