(Jesus speaking) “Don’t bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This isn’t a cat-and-mouse, hide-and-seek game we’re in. If your child asks for bread, do you trick him with sawdust? If he asks for fish, do you scare him with a live snake on his plate? As bad as you are, you wouldn’t think of such a thing. You’re at least decent to your own children. So don’t you think the God who conceived you in love will be even better (‭‭Mat‬ ‭7:7)

Let’s be honest, parenting is – and always will be, just kids bringing up kids!

Primarily, we approach GOD with the same tools we learned from getting what we wanted – either from our parents, our siblings, or our friends.

Thereafter, even if we were brought up within a happy functional family as opposed to a difficult dysfunctional one, we still have to lose a lot of what we’ve decided ‘works’ in order to get what we want – moods, tears, tantrums, poor me, etc.

How…? How then do we approach our Father GOD – the One who knows what we need, even before a word is on our lips (or a scheme is in our heart)? Only by letting His Holy Spirit who is in us – direct us DAILY. ❤️
