Day 91/365
Jesus came down the mountain with the cheers of the crowd still ringing in his ears. Then a leper appeared and went to his knees before Jesus, praying, “Master, if you want to, you can heal my body.”
Jesus reached out and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be clean.” Then and there, all signs of the leprosy were gone. Jesus said, “Don’t talk about this all over town. Just quietly present your healed body to the priest, along with the appropriate expressions of thanks to God.
Your cleansed and grateful life, not your words, will bear witness to what I have done.” (Mat 8:1 MSG)
When you love someone, you’re never going to keep bringing up the gifts and blessings you’ve bestowed on them. Your relational security is in the fact that you love them and all that’s ever required for the giver is an acknowledgment of the gift.
As I read the Bible it seems that being grateful for what He’s done - and is continuing to do, and expressing my thankfulness holds terrific sway with our Father GOD.
Lord, you know that there are times when I’m so happy to get what I needed that like the nine lepers who didn’t bother to come back and say thank you for their healing, I forget too. I’m here now Lord, kneeling in my own shame - please forgive my ‘entitled’ attitude and accept my grateful thanks for all you’ve done and are doing. Amen … ❤️
