Day 90/365

Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless—cheerfully. (‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4:8)

Reading this brought to mind a blessing in my life that I’d have missed - if I’d have had my own way!

I was rushing up to the office after a particularly difficult train journey into town and just managed to grab a coffee en route when I walked (OK I rushed) past a guy huddled in a doorway who I heard was crying.

I shrugged my shoulders and ignored him and must have managed about 50 yards before the Holy Spirit reigned me in and forced me to go back!

Here was a guy who’d had a stupid argument with his wife and it had gone too far and he’d run away and gotten ‘lost!’ He’d got drunk and awoken in a doorway to find he’d been mugged and robbed – even of his shoes!

Long story short, he got sorted and other than the telephone call to his wife, coffee and shoes it had only cost me ‘time!’ But the Glory God got that day as I heard him speaking to his wife was priceless!
