Day 89/365
Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think. This will empower you to discern God’s will as you live a beautiful life, satisfying and perfect in his eyes. (Rom 12:2)
Do you remember the story of Pinocchio? The puppet who was carved by a woodcarver named Geppetto in an old Tuscan village In Italy. He was created as a wooden puppet but he dreams of becoming a real boy. Unfortunately in order to achieve this he found himself constantly lying In order to fit in to the society around him.
Like Pinocchio, as we get older, more and more of us become dissatisfied with who we have become. The twists and turns and knee jerk choices (and small white lies) we chose along life’s paths seem to have all culminated in forming a parody of the actual person we thought we would end up as; culminating in the classic and often poignant line, “I never thought my life would end up like this...”
The thing is, in order to become myself (the real me), I must cease to be what I always thought I wanted to be.
In order to live, ‘really live,‘ we must return to God, our Heavenly Potter - humbly place ourselves back onto his wheel and ‘let Him‘ begin to form us into His image. ❤️
