Day 83/365

(Jesus speaking) “The world is full of so-called prayer warriors who are prayer-ignorant. They’re full of formulas and programs and advice, peddling techniques for getting what you want from God. Don’t fall for that nonsense. (Mat 6:7)

I remember once being part of a bunch of people who were praying for a guy who’d been in a wheelchair, like forever!

I’m sure you can guess the prayers that were being made: “Lord, we lift up so and so to you. As you know Lord, he’s been stuck like this for ages and we’d like to see him set free ...” ”Lord, this is the umpteenth time that we’re praying for so and so, please Lord, please heal him now Lord - today would be good ...”

Anyway, I genuinely didn’t know what to pray and so kept quiet. After a while I heard the Lord speak to my heart saying, “I don’t hear what you hear, their voices are saying one thing, but I hear their hearts saying, “Hey you up there. How come you’re not listening? They’re not open enough to even ask me ‘what’ to pray, they’re just making blustering demands of me...”

(Jesus speaking) “... This is your Father you are dealing with, and he knows better than you what you need. With a God like this loving you, you can pray very simply. Like this: Our Father in heaven, Reveal who you are. Set the world right; Do what’s best— as above, so below. Keep us alive with three square meals. Keep us forgiven with you and forgiving others. Keep us safe from ourselves and the Devil. You’re in charge! You can do anything you want! You’re ablaze in beauty! Yes. Yes. Yes.” (‭‭Mat‬ ‭6:7) ❤️
