Day 62/365
“... Let Me go, for day is breaking. But [Jacob] said, I will not let You go unless You declare a blessing upon me. [The Man] asked him, What is your name? And [in shock of realization, whispering] he said, Jacob [supplanter, schemer, trickster, swindler]!” (Gen 32:26-27 AMPC)
Like Jacob, I’ve wrested with GOD too. In fact, some of my toughest battles in life have been against Him.
That’s because, like Jacob, [supplanter, schemer, trickster, swindler], there’s a rebellious nature in me too that resists the perfect will of GOD - and it has to be dealt with.
In fact, the same GOD who asked Jacob, ‘What is your name?’ has constantly asked me to identify myself too. And until I’m willing to do an honest evaluation and answer truthfully, my life won’t (it can’t), change for the better.
I can sit in Church and shout Amen when the Pastor asks me if I truly want all of GOD’s blessings, but then when they don’t materialise do I consider am I willing to let go of what I want if it’s not perfect God’s will for me?
Lord help me to be sincere when I say, I want what you want for me and nothing less. ❤️
