Day 341/365

Thank [God] in everything [no matter what the circumstances may be, be thankful and give thanks], for this is the will of God for you [who are] in Christ Jesus [the Revealer and Mediator of that will]. (1 Thes 5:15-24‬ ‭AMPC‬‬)

I was desperate for work and my wife was booked on a training course for her new job which meant that we got to stay in a fancy hotel for free. I was just about to head on out for a coffee first when I really felt the Lord asking me to stay in the room and open my Bible … I felt ashamed, dirty and fearful! What did He want to say to me? I hadn't been in His Presence for ages and (to be honest) I blamed him constantly for all my problems …!

I was sulking so I very casually flipped the book open and it turned to Job, chapter 36. He told me to read from verse 7 … Job 36:7 He withdraws not His eyes from the righteous (the upright in right standing with God); but He sets them forever with kings upon the throne, and they are exalted. And if they are bound in fetters [of adversity] and held by cords of affliction, Then He shows to them [the true character of] their deeds and their transgressions, that they have acted arrogantly [with presumption and self-sufficiency]. He also opens their ears to instruction and discipline, and commands that they return from iniquity. If they obey and serve Him, they shall spend their days in prosperity and their years in pleasantness and joy.

I was gutted …!!! He then lead me further down to verse 16 … Job 36:16-21 "Oh, Job, don't you see how God's wooing you from the jaws of danger? How he's drawing you into wide-open places, inviting you to feast at a table laden with blessings? And here you are laden with the guilt of the wicked, obsessed with putting the blame on God! Take heed, turn not to iniquity, for this [the iniquity of complaining against God] you have chosen rather than [submission in] affliction.

By now I was sobbing … He then spoke to me very clearly : Remember who you are ... you are My son! ❤️
