Day 293/365
“There are a lot of people around who can’t wait to tell you what you’ve done wrong, but there aren’t many fathers willing to take the time and effort to help you grow up.“ (1 Cor 4:15 MSG)
When our family first moved down to West Sussex we had a wonderful Pastor - Michael Barling. He was pretty much everything you’d want a Pastor to be, in fact my wife called him her second father.
If you were sick, he was never too busy and would come personally, anoint you with oil and pray. If you were struggling, he would find out somehow and try to help - many times financially. If there were family issues, he’d get involved somehow and always seemed to sort them.
Pastor Michael was the kind of guy you would seek out when you were down. A true father to all under his wing. In short, he took his role extremely seriously and became, quite literally, Jesus with skin on.
So … what about the rest of us? Are ‘we’ taking our roles in this life as seriously? Are ’we’ becoming ‘Jesus with skin on’ to those around us? ❤️
