Day 251/365

“At last we have freedom, for Christ has set us free! We must always cherish this truth and firmly refuse to go back into the bondage of our past.” (Gal 5:1‬ ‭TPT‬‬)

I began the habit of smoking when I was only 11 and started as lead guitar in our ‘pop group.’ I was the youngest by far and did it in order to impress (the girls), and look older than I was. I hated the smell and the taste with a passion, and it took my 3 weeks to get used to it, but once I was hooked, I just couldn’t get away!

I was 31 when I met and communicated with Jesus and although I felt ‘free’ I just couldn’t (wouldn’t) quit my smoking habit.

Then one day, as I was putting my oldest daughter to bed, she suddenly sat up straight and said, “Daddy, what is that awful smell…?”

All I remember after that is falling on my knees and begging GOD to take the craving away. I never smoked another cigarette from that day on!

Sceptics will say it was simply will power, those who ‘know’ Jesus, the Christ of GOD will understand, turn to Him and raise their hands in thanksgiving for what He is powerfully doing in their lives. ❤️
