Day 226/365

“He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him–not for my earning it, but] for His name's sake.” (Psa 23:3‬)

One of my daughters was telling my wife of a recent encounter at a wedding with a child of ‘terrible two.’

It seems that with no one trying to control her, the little girl was upsetting everyone and everything by running rampant throughout the ceremony, ruining the venue and screaming at the top of her voice if anyone even tried approaching her.

My wife listened attentively to the story and finally said calmly, “I’d have picked you up, placed you under my arm and carried you straight out of the venue where we would have had very strong words about your very unacceptable behaviour!”

This got me thinking about our relationship with GOD. Doesn’t He have a right to Parent us? As the darkness that tempted us now turns to condemn our selfish actions, surely our Heavenly Father has the equal right to ‘pick us up, place us under His arm and carry us somewhere where we would receive righteous discipline about our very unacceptable behaviour’ - for His Name’s sake? ❤️
