Day 2/365

“I waited and waited and waited for God. At last he looked; finally he listened. He lifted me out of the ditch, pulled me from deep mud. He stood me up on a solid rock to make sure I wouldn’t slip. He taught me how to sing the latest God-song, a praise-song to our God. More and more people are seeing this: they enter the mystery, abandoning themselves to God.” (Psa 40:1-3‬ ‭MSG‬‬)

This reminds me of a time at Church where I was stood just behind a guy who I knew was desperate for some answers. As the Praise and Worship began he seemed to cast all his self consciousness to the winds and just started singing at the top of his voice, waving his hands and exuberantly rejoicing … I was convicted, watching him made me feel like a sham, like I was just going through the motions.

Here he was abandoning himself to GOD, giving his heart, his all into the experience while I was just a voyeur - I might just as well have stood in the foyer selling popcorn.

I’ll leave you to guess which one of us ‘went to Church’ that day.

Child of the Living GOD, whatever you do, reject every semblance of religion and strive for Relationship with your Heavenly Father. Abandon your very self to His Loving Presence - He will sustain all your needs. ❤️
