Day 155/365

This is scary: You can tame a tiger, but you can’t tame a tongue—it’s never been done.


The tongue runs wild, a wanton killer. With our tongues we bless God our Father; with the same tongues we curse the very men and women he made in his image. Curses and blessings out of the same mouth! My friends, this can’t go on. (Jas 3:7 MSG)


It’s easy to think that expressions such as: “I’m just saying!” Or, “I have a right to an opinion- don’t I?” don’t count. But, if as Jesus tells me, I can violate a woman’s dignity just by my thoughts alone - then the ability to sin (or injure) another person is (very real indeed) and ever present.


Lord, this walk is hard. Please help me to keep a reign on my mouth, mind and actions.
