Day 149/365

I’m too young for this, a mere child! I don’t know the ropes, hardly know the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’… (1 Kings 3:7 MSG)


We all pull the ‘I’m only a child’ card at some time or another. And then scream hysterically when things go bad for us, battling ugly thoughts like ‘if you love me then why do you let this happen?’


The thing is the opposite of love isn’t hate – it’s actually indifference, and that’s the state where most of us get tempted into.


We don’t get what we want - or what we feel we have a right to, so we pull back and drift away, until ….. we’re lost!


Hebrews 12:6 says “the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he loves.” But he doesn’t discipline us so that we turn around and love him more – what parent would even ‘think’ of doing that!


Bottom line: Discipline is training at Boot Camp and Boot Camp is training for ‘our’ Future - ‘our’ Benefit! ❤️
