Day 133/365
... I want you to become scholars of all that is good and beautiful, and stay pure and innocent when it comes to evil. And the God of peace will swiftly pound Satan to a pulp under your feet! And the wonderful favour of our Lord Jesus will surround you. (Rom 16:19)
Jesus was tempted three times by Satan. The temptations were: hedonism, which is (hunger/ satisfaction), egoism (spectacular/ might) and materialism (kingdoms/ wealth). The Apostle John defines these temptations as: "lust of the eyes" (materialism), "lust of the body" (hedonism) and "the pride of life" (egoism).
Satan delights in showing GOD how much we (GOD’s children), side with him over GOD. How much we applaud and use his methods over those of our GOD.
If we trust the Lord with the keeping of our Soul, then shouldn’t we trust him too with the keeping of our mouths? So how can we stay pure and innocent when it comes to evil? By not giving in to ‘our’ opinion.
It’s easy to do what we want and go join the crowd, either through peer pressure (fear), or through the feeling of our own convictions (selfish righteousness). But it’s harder to stop, drop everything and take the time to run to GOD and ask, “Is this right? Is this a battle that you want me to be part of?”
... stay pure and innocent when it comes to evil and the God of peace will swiftly pound Satan to a pulp under your feet! ❤️
