Day 125/365

God did it for us… He got us out of the mess we’re in and restored us to where he always wanted us to be. And he did it by means of Jesus Christ. (‭‭Rom‬ ‭3:24 MSG)

When I first accepted this amazing truth – that GOD had provided Jesus as my Saviour, I honestly was the happiest guy on Earth! It was as if I’d just walked into Eden and left all my stupid sinful tendencies back outside In La La land!

I knew that I’d been cleansed and ‘filled‘ with His Holy Spirit, but my heart, mind and life wasn’t regenerated, and like water leaking through a sieve, I couldn’t contain what was happening - bottom line, I couldn’t live with one foot in Eden and the rest of me in the world!

I never quite realised the importance of the second part of the Scripture: “And he did it by means of Jesus Christ.” So instead of submitting to Jesus, and understanding that this wasn’t a one-off experience, but that I needed him ‘daily‘ - I just redoubled my efforts!

If the video of my life was to be ever played back, you would see how many times I spectacularly crashed and burned until I made the conscious decision as to what land I wanted to be part of - Eden or the world.

Now, the only effort I put in is to stay close to him. Keep alert to his leading. Listen to what he says and respond accordingly.

Father, thank you for Jesus. ❤️
