Silence is praise to you, Zion-dwelling God, And also obedience. You hear the prayer in it all. (Psa 65:1 MSG)

Prayers are extremely difficult for most of us. For me, I knew my shortcomings and at first I wanted to emulate how the ‘clever people’ prayed in Church. I even tried hanging around them in order to copy their diction and learn the stanza - but all that did was sap my confidence even further (and give me a headache).

So instead I read countless ‘self-help’ books on prayer in order to try and do what they do, and sound just like them - and it’s extremely intimidating when all you can achieve is squeak a pathetic ‘please help!’

Then, GOD – who created each of our hearts, said to me, “Stop stressing and stop trying to be clever and impress others. Who are you trying to connect with anyway? I hear your intent and I know your needs. My love will guide you through – just do your part and trust me enough to honour me to do mine.” ❤️
