Let the word of Christ live in you richly, flooding you with all wisdom. (Col 3:16) It’s no wonder that revenge movies continue to top the high demand list. People everywhere can relate to the theme and the ‘feel good’ factor of revenge is extremely powerful. Unfortunately, (as we all know), the ‘feel good’ factor doesn’t last and like an open wound, unless the initial damage is dealt with, then the hurt continues to fester – and spread to ‘others!’ We seem to take offence s
You find God’s favor by deciding to please God even when you endure hardships because of unjust suffering. For what merit is it to endure mistreatment for wrongdoing? Yet if you are mistreated when you do what is right, and you faithfully endure it, this is commendable before God. In fact, you were called to live this way, because Christ also suffered in your place, leaving you his example for you to follow. (1 Pet 2:19) OK … hands in the air, this one is probably just for me
(Jesus speaking) “… When you pray, there is no need to repeat empty phrases, praying like those who don’t know God, for they expect God to hear them because of their many words. There is no need to imitate them, since your Father already knows what you need before you ask him. Pray like this: ‘Our Father, dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of your name be the center on which our lives turn. Manifest your kingdom realm, and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled
Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day’s out. Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law. If you think you are too good for that, you are badly deceived. (Gal 6:1) I read this morning how a young woman decided to end her life rather than continue to face the constant pressure of the Medi
Jesus was matter-of-fact: … when you assume the posture of prayer, remember that it’s not all asking. If you have anything against someone, forgive —only then will your heavenly Father be inclined to also wipe your slate clean of sins.” (Mark 11:25) In a world where the Media glorifies vengeance to such an extent that we all applaud and actually ‘feel good’ when the bad guy ‘gets it’, then where does forgiveness sit with us? It’s easy to ‘say the words’ but taking it to the l
(Jesus speaking) “… I’m telling you to love your enemies. Let them bring out the best in you, not the worst. When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer, for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves. This is what God does. He gives his best—the sun to warm and the rain to nourish—to everyone, regardless: the good and bad, the nice and nasty. If all you do is love the lovable, do you expect a bonus? Anybody can do that…”
(Jesus speaking) “I tell you, love your enemies. Help and give without expecting a return. You’ll never—I promise—regret it. Live out this God-created identity the way our Father lives toward us, generously and graciously, even when we’re at our worst. Our Father is kind; you be kind. (Luke 6:35).
I had my heart set on some other scripture, but Papà let me here… if it’s not for you then just pass it on. Lol x #grace #loveinaction #childrenofGod #Papa #ChristianBlog #Ho
“If a fellow believer hurts you, go and tell him—work it out between the two of you. If he listens, you’ve made a friend. If he won’t listen, take one or two others along so that the presence of witnesses will keep things honest, and try again. If he still won’t listen, tell the church. If he won’t listen to the church, you’ll have to start over from scratch, confront him with the need for repentance, and offer again God’s forgiving love. (Matt 18:15). START OVER FROM SCRA
I call out to High God, the God who holds me together. He sends orders from heaven and saves me, he humiliates those who kick me around. God delivers generous love, he makes good on his word. (Psalm 57:2). What’s trying to intimidate you just now – fear, lack, sickness, addiction, the need for justice, revenge …? If the fundamental principal of our existence (and shelter) in Christ is forgiveness and love then let me counsel you child of God to actually perform a physical mir
“Oh, Job, don’t you see how God’s wooing you from the jaws of danger? How he’s drawing you into wide-open places—inviting you to feast at a table laden with blessings? And here you are laden with the guilt of the wicked, obsessed with putting the blame on God!” (Job 36:16). I’m sure that this only ever applied to me and would NEVER apply to you! So I’m saying that when Papà showed me this I went through a volcano of emotions that very quickly led to my Peace and Freedom … x
